PRESTIGIOUS ENGLISH CRITIC ACKNOWLEDGES EMILIANA’S AGRICULTURAL MANAGER AS THE CHILEAN VITICULTURIST OF THE YEAR 2023

Tim Atkin, the renowned British critic and Master of Wine, awarded Andrés Aparicio, Emiliana's Agricultural Manager, with the title of Chile's Best viticulturist of the Year 2023 in his latest report on Chilean wines.

Tim Atkin, the renowned British critic and Master of Wine, awarded Andrés Aparicio, Emiliana’s Agricultural Manager, with the title of Chile’s Best viticulturist of the Year 2023 in his latest report on Chilean wines.

Atkin applauded the work of Aparicio and Emiliana’s team, praising it for their commitment to sustainability, which translates into grapes of superior quality and wines recognized around the world. He additionally pointed out his leadership in adopting sustainable practices in the wine industry, thus pushing a significant change in the way the industry faces the environmental and social challenges.

Aparicio has been Viña Emiliana’s Agricultural Manager since 2014, responsible for the technical and administrative management of more than 1,000 hectares of certified organic, regenerative an biodynamic vineyards from the Limarí Valley to Biobío.

Regarding the prize, Aparicio pointed out that “it is important since it spreads the news of what we make at Emiliana; also for the care of the environment and for producing sounder products that improve the life quality of people. And this recognition helps us to strengthen our message.”

He describes his experience at Emiliana as the opportunity to apply his knowledge of agriculture and winemaking and to work with nature and the biological cycles to produce wines that reflect the true identity of the earth.

Emiliana, the largest organic winery in the world, closed 2021 with a new milestone: its sales for the year reached more than one million cases.
